It’s a new year which means there’s a new batch of interior trends to feast our eyes on. We thought we’d take a look at the visuals, patterns, and motifs leading the way in 2024, so whether you’re a trend-hopper, or just here for fun, why not take National Tiles’ 2024 aesthetic tour.
Pearl
The delightfully otherworldly magic of pearlescence has much to offer in 2024. Playfully made up of a rainbow of pastels, including baby pink, cream, powder blue, silver and pale gold, the pearl is hard to pin down but easy to love. Coming from nature, it partners beautifully with organic textures and rich earthen colours, creating an immediately layered design. But you don’t have to have real pearl to get the look. Simply swatch from the colour palette and recreate the vibe with flecks of marble or a metallic shimmer.
Stripes
Enduringly stylish, timeless, classic, and chic, stripes are never out of fashion, but in 2024, they’re forecasted to be everywhere. Dramatic contrast, barely-there pinstripes, chilled combos of beige and white, or intense colour pairings, all stripes are good stripes this year. Suited for furniture, bedding, or cushions, or even as larger scale statements on walls and floors, if you’re into stripes, this could be your year.
Equestrian
Selected by Home Beautiful, the trend towards Equestrian design may seem unusual, but something about it is undeniably fun. Although horse-centric patterns are a part of it, the trend encompasses the entire equestrian lifestyle – think luxe dark wood, velvet, top hats, and bone china. It’s a bit masculine and old school, but you can pick and choose what you like to match your own vibe.
Curves
Wobbly mirrors and all things whimsical came into fashion a few years ago, but for 2024, it’s more considered: this year, carefully curated curves are set to be hot. Large sweeping sofas, archways, and even curved walls are having a moment. In perfect contrast to straight lines and stripes, curves offer the organic and a space a little softer on the eye.
Wildflower
Embracing all things feminine with all sorts of trends that promise a ‘return to girlhood’, 2023 was named by some as ‘the year of the girl’. Moving into 2024, one decorative detail has emerged as this theme’s perfectly subtle successor – Wildflower. Sprawling and imperfect but undeniably beautiful, wildflower motifs offer the cute aesthetic of florals with a side of grounded maturity.
